Great Food

The food is great... if you can get any.They have 2 people working the kitchen and 1 person doing everything else, in a restaurant that can (and regularly does) seat about 50-60 people.You'll spend your first 20 minutes there waiting to even be greeted or have your drink order taken. Then maybe, if you're lucky, about 40-45 minutes later you'll get your food.This isn't a one time occurrence. I'm a local that's been a regular diner patron for many years, but at some point enough it enough.Bottom line is they need to come up off of some green and hire some more people cause if they don't they'll lose more customers like me.Edit: I forgot to mention I did actually try calling my order in ahead of time but their phone was busy for a solid 15 minutes prior to my arrival.

This is one fine dinner,I eat here once a week and when you come here you will get some of the finest hospitality service this side of the Mason dixen line. Ask for Beth or Mary Jane. Jeff and Carla the owners are there to greet you they are there every morning. I usually get the special for the day but sometimes I can't resist there cheese burger. This diner prepares there food fresh daily. Mrs. Carla bakes her sweet treats daily I recommend her cheese cake

Best burger ever! Altha Diner is a small town diner but well worth the stop! The people are friendly, and the food is gr8! Oh, and the sweet tea hits the spot every time!! The diner draws a crowd at dinner time, so if there is a wait, wait. It's well worth it. You can call ahead and get your food to go, if you'd prefer.

Good little diner. Fair prices & good food. What more can you ask for. Our waitress reminded me of EllieMae from the Beverly Hillbillies. Great service & yummy breakfast!

Got to enjoy a few decent meals. Each time the food was well prepared, portions were decent, fairly well priced, and the taste was above average. But, the amount of time you have to wait to be served is some of the most ridiculous, long lasting bull that I have ever had the bad luck of having to experience.

Nasty food fries was old and ketchup was out of date good service very kind people but if I'm going to pay over 10 dollars for just a small portion of food it needs to be fresh

Bacon cheeseburger was decent. Prices are reasonable. Wife ordered steak medium rare it was bloody in the middle potatoes not done, baked potatoe not cooked completely. Salad head inedible pieces of lettuce in it. Staff was very nice.

Great home cooking. Sausage biscuits are excellent! But be aware that orders ARE NOT made in advance so patience are required but food is worth the wait. Laid back truly southern atmosphere. Mostly locals.

It's our favorite restaurant in Elsa we love the owner he's a friend of the family always nice people working there and if you're in town go you'll love it and how would you get the picture of my granddaughter she's cute but that's scary anyway we love it high from Winna and Ellie Belly

Came in on a Thursday for lunch with a co-worker. We both had the specials...fried chicken and hamburger steak. The chicken was decent, juicy and crunchy..but both entres were bland and unseasoned. My fries were unsalted, and my co-worker's cornbread was raw in the middle. Nice people, but that's about it.

Always hit this place when I come back home especially on the all you can eat shrimp night. Great service and excellent food!

Typical small town local eatery. In fact about the only one serving 3 meals a day in Altha. Nothing fancy with food. Cooked well, tasted OK. Prices are fair.Clean but definitely nothing fancy in decor. Star added for value and Convience in area.

I expected better from a little mom and pop deep in the sticks of North Florida, but it was a little better than average.

Carry out on Mother's Day We got 2 of the chicken dinners to go. The chicken was wonderful, the greens and butter beans were very good. The mashed potatoes were ok. My husband loved the tea. We are looking forward to going back and dining in.
